pant 1 in hemp organic cotton canvas (mushroom)
I wear my clothes hard: biking, walking my dog, working in my sewing studio, lounging (a lot of lounging), but all of this means that I need clothing that matches my life. I need to be able to sit, walk, bend and work without constriction. I wanted pants that were made for my busy life, but that would keep working across seasons and still look great. So when it came to pattern drafting this pant, there had to be plenty of space in the hips, thighs and knees to allow for lots of movement and comfort. I knew I wanted a tapered leg, which gives these pants a flattering cut and means less fabric to muck around with around the ankle. Another design element I knew I wanted was a super high waist: every size features a 15” rise. The elastic waist band is 2” wide, making these pants all the more comfortable. The super high rise of these pants make them the perfect pairing for my cropped shirts. Lastly, inseam pockets. That’s right, this pair of pants has deep inseam pockets for all of your essentials.
Also available in hemp organic cotton canvas in cinder and tea, as well as organic linen cotton in the tea.
Let's talk length options. This pant now comes with two inseam options: 23" or 25". I recommend a 25" inseam for the organic linen cotton version since I imagine these to be worn in the summer with a pair of simple sandals. For colder months, I recommend the 23" inseam so that the pant can be worn with ankle boots and handmade wool socks without needing to cuff the pant.
As you might already know, I feature "open sizing" with my brand. This is my way of challenging our sizing norms and encouraging customers to choose a size that makes them feel good without judgement. These pants currently come in 16 sizes. There are two options for inseam lengths (23" or 25") and the rise measurement is 15". Keep in mind that because of the elastic waist band of these pants, there's some wiggle room between sizes. I wouldn’t suggest sizing up in this pant, but there is room to size down if you wish. I wouldn’t size down more than a single size, since you want plenty of space in the hips for the inseam pockets to lay nicely. The size guide below is a suggestion based on waist and hip measurement. As always, feel free to e-mail me with sizing questions. I'd be happy to help.
